We are here to connect you with your local food system while also educating you on the benefits of eating locally and the importance of developing a strong relationship with your local farmers.

As Wendell Berry is quoted, “Eating is an agricultural act.” One step at a time we are making it easier for you to buy fresh locally grown groceries to nourish you and your family.
Anybody interested in solving, rather than profiting from, the problems of food production and distribution will see that in the long run the safest food supply is a local food supply, not a supply that is dependent on a global economy. Nations and regions within nations must be left free and should be encouraged to develop the local food economies that best suit local needs and local conditions.

How we got started
In 2019, Todd & Marcia sold everything and purchased an RV to travel the US to learn about farming. We wanted to learn to live sustainably and learn to grow our own food. While on the road visiting farms, there were many times we wanted to purchase locally grown food, but finding a local farm wasn’t always easy. In visiting small farms, we saw the ongoing struggle they had connecting to their community. So we started asking questions to find out what could help fix this. As a result, Traveling Roots was born. It started out as a dream, but it quickly became clear that an online platform for farms of all sizes was needed. To help them connect to their communities in order to share their passion of growing nutritious food for themselves and their communities.
Todd and Marcia knew they couldn’t build Traveling Roots alone so they partnered with Joe to help build an online platform. We have worked hard talking with farmers across the US to develop a system that honors the needs of consumers and farmers. We have big plans for Traveling Roots and look forward to supporting both as we strive to connect the two.
